An Incident and Injury-Free® (IIF® ) Workplace at Terracon For many years, Terracon has been concerned with workplace safety and worked very hard to put in place effective Safety policies and procedures. In 2006, safety was formally adopted as a core value of the firm. Although we have made strides in increasing the importance of safety in our operations, in 2010 we decided we needed to do more. While there is certainly a business case for improving safety, such as gaining our client’s confidence that we will follow strict safety practices while on their projects, as well as an improved Experience Modification Ratio (EMR), at its core, safety is a people issue. We are not satisfied with incremental improvement in workplace safety and will do whatever it takes to achieve and sustain outstanding performance. Terracon has been on a journey to fundamentally alter how we think about safety and how it is woven into the culture of our firm. This initiative will help us create a truly Incident and Injury-Free® (IIF® ) culture at Terracon. At Terracon, safety is held as a core value, as well as an operational priority. Working safely is an inseparable part of doing things right just as much as other commitments such as quality, profitability, and schedule. It is an uncompromising commitment at all levels of the company to ensure everyone goes home safely to his or her family each and every day. As a Terracon company, our BES employees have been IFF trained and practice safety in all aspects of life...even parking.

BES was happy to sponsor a hole and have a team in the annual Memorial Hermann Medical Missions Golf Tournament at Sugar Creek Country Club in Sugar Land, Texas on April 11th. From the Memorial Hermann website about the mission organization: "Memorial Hermann Medical Missions was founded in 1999 to serve as a liaison between the resources of Memorial Hermann and underserved residents of global communities and during natural disasters in the United States. All decisions of the mission are made by the Memorial Hermann Medical Missions Committee and their goal is to assist those who suffer from inadequate medical, dental and general health support. Memorial Hermann Medical Missions also collaborates with similar organizations outside Memorial Hermann. This is done to maximize mission-specific resources available in the Houston community."
